Notes

A bright, welcoming nose – we were making daisy chains by a garden shed in the sun with lemon ice lollies, apple strudel and upside-down pineapple cake. The palate was an intricate concatenation of flavours – tart, tangy and fruity (cooked plums and rhubarb, cherry pieces in dark chocolate, popping candy) with hints of ginger, coffee grinds and wood. The reduced nose was fresh yet earthy – forest after rain, Dove soap, minty tobacco, eucalyptus, Ricola bonbons and an apothecary. The palate became less spicy, but still sweet – cinnamon swirls, chocolate Swiss roll and a malty hot drink – stem ginger and liquorice toffee to finish.
